New River Gorge

We are in West Virginia and just crossed New River Gorge. It is 43 degrees and the trees are in full bloom. The sun has set so I didn't get a picture. A cool thing happened. We were looking for gas and stumbled onto the cabin we stayed in when we came to New River Gorge and Burning Rock. It's been a few years but what great memories.

I have to say, we both admitted to each other that we have never flown by the seat of our pants like this and there is so much freedom that comes along with it. We have always had reservations and been on a schedule. We are truly loving the new found way to travel. Thanks to those that suggested it and encouraged us. It's like that free fall out of plane when we went skydiving.

Gas prices are a amazing. We found gas as cheap as $2.75 on interstate 81. West Virginia is higher, but we have found that to be true in the past when we were up here.

  3. Also stopped at White Sulfur Springs which is where we rented cabins twice and went skiing with the kids at Snowshoe. Granma K came once too. We passed Cass Scenic Railroad. The kids thought that cabin was scary. Hahaha good times and great memories!
